In the past few months, I’ve been drawn to clean up and clear the clutter. I had done a lot when I moved in with my boyfriend last year, but was still holding on to things I thought I would sell, wear again, use for a special occasion, or just because I had spent money on those items (I was also holding on to what I really wanted to let go of).

But the truth is I didn’t feel really good in 1/3 of the clothes in my closet. I stopped wearing a lot of makeup, preferring the feeling of a natural look. And I didn’t have the time, energy, and desire to do a garage sale.

So slowly, I’ve been purging one space at a time. I’m not done and will probably revisit those areas again, but it’s freeing. It feels good to share and give what no longer suits me, but might make someone else happy. And it feels good to ‘grow up’, to allow myself to enjoy a different style, one that reflects where and who I am now.

My challenge to you is to pick one space or room and really ask yourself how each item makes you feel. If it’s not joy, excitement, happiness, inspiration, etc. —> Let it go.

PS : You can make it more fun with a glass of wine (or your own special drink) and blasting some old tunes (good memories only tunes).
